Monday the country of Iran issued an arrest warrant for United States President Donald J Trump and a number of aids in connection with the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani months ago in Iraq.
At a press conference in Saudi Arabia the U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Brian Hook, was quick to dismiss the warrant. The conservative twitter sphere was also quick to dismiss the warrant.
This is silly and isn't ever going to happen but Iran could have easily made this request 7 months ago and didn't. It's a reminder that the Iranian government sees revenge in a longterm way…and when they exact real revenge for this, they won't attach their name to it https://t.co/32gHJnSQW3

Qasem Soleimani was a terrorist and his death has made the world a safer place.
Iran has, as always, the opportunity to come back to the negotiating table.
Instead, we see more propaganda “diplomacy.”

According to Al-Jazeera a prosecutor in Tehran by the name of Tehran Ali Alqasimehr said “Trump, along with more than 30 others Iran accuses of involvement in the attack, face murder and terrorism charges.” As Al-Jazeera points out never did the prosecutor say the names of the aids that are being implicated in the warrant.
When this killing first happened Iran said that it fell under “an extrajudicial killing”, however now they have changed their tune. They are now saying according to Al-Jazeera that “the killing was meant to deter Iran and its proxies from launching attacks on US bases in the region.”
Yahoo News reported that the Iranian prosecutor went on to say,”These people have been charged with murder and terrorist acts. At the top of the list is US President Donald Trump, and his prosecution will continue even after the end of his term,”.
